I am Silva

Your Public Speaking Coach

I am an Award-Winning Journalist Amazon Best Selling Author, Speaker, Trailblazer And Renown Advocate For Women.  My path to success was filled with years of challenges, rejection, limited opportunities, and heartbreaking setbacks.

Born in Iran, I've lived through the Iranian revolution and the devastating effects of a decade-long war. She and her family escaped terrifying religious and political persecution and immigrated to Los Angeles when she was 16-years-old. Even though English was her 4th language, and despite what many said was impossible in an industry that lacked diversity and minority representation, Silva became a trailblazer as the the first Iranian Armenian-American Television Journalist in the United States.

In the spotlight

For 25 years I've worked in front of the camera...

and behind the scenes for some of the nation's most prominent media outlets, including CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX affiliates, covering global news events with a front row seat to many of the historic events of our generation including multiple presidential elections, 9/11, the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and mass shootings in Parkland and Orlando.

I have reported the stories of families devastated by natural disasters, including Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma, and the destruction of Harvey, Isaac, Maria, and Irma.

an Advocate

Silva is an advocate for systemic change, has fought against discrimination, and often speaks on fostering inclusive and equitable spaces.

In 2020 she took a stand and exposed discriminatory hiring and wage-theft practices by a multi-billion dollar media conglomerate. Her courageous fight paved the way for widespread change in the broadcast media industry for Television Journalists. It also resulted in systemic changes in hiring and pay practices, the adoption of diversity and inclusion initiatives as well as the establishment of dedicated teams in newsrooms across the country focusing on covering stories that impact people of color and underrepresented communities. Silva’s remarkable fight will soon be chronicled in a book, documentary and a feature movie.

In 2020, Silva launched an independent journalism platform with programing aimed at covering inclusive stories and amplifying diverse voices.

The goal is to shine a light on marginalized and underrepresented communities and issues that are often ignored or overlooked.

Her work has garnered recognition, including a Telly Award for her Documentary about the 44 day war in Armenia, and a Communicator Award for her 18 part web series documenting An Entrepreneur’s Journey.

When she’s not producing content, she speaks to leaders, teams and organization about what it takes to tap into an unstoppable mindset, how to use one’s personal experience to cultivate an unwavering determination and resilience to overcome obstacles and break through systemic barriers and succeed where most often give up.
